Local Easter Egg Hunts
FAMILY FUN OVER EASTER
We love Easter and that fact that it’s a little bit later this year, makes it more likely that we will have better weather. We are a pretty outdoorsy family so the more time we get outside the better.
We put together a few places that are doing Easter activities over the holidays and the Easter weekend. Who knows, we might see you there…
Everything from Easter Egg Hunts to face painting, zorbing cannon ball fun, scavenger hunt, candy floss cabin, and meet the easter bunny. This is where you want to be and will be great fun.
Historical Scotland – Tantallon and Direlton Castles
Historical Scotland have a few of their sites doing self-guided Easter Trails this year. We’ve picked out Tantallon Castle and Direleton Castle and they have a small-scale hunt for the missing bird at the Spring party. You follow the clues and receive a chocolatey reward at the end.
Takes place across the Easter weekend.
The National Trust For Scotland - Newhailes and Preston Mill
The National Trust for Scotland are also running an Easter trail across various locations.
Newhailes is also offering magical games, face painting, and workshops. We also love the playground there so worth popping in. Preston Mill is a picturesque mill is on the banks of the River Tyne. It has a waterwheel, millpond, doocot and it was also featured as part of the Outlander set. They also have their Easter trail on.
Head to East Links Family Park over Easter to take part in an Easter egg hunt. The event will be taking place from 30 March – 22 April, and entry is included with the normal admission price. Kids can hunt for the red and gold eggs hidden around the park for a chance to win a special prize at the end. As well as the Easter egg hunt, there will also be the chance to see lots of baby animals, take part in face painting and explore the park’s attractions, including a fortress play park, go karts, soft play barn, train safari, crazy golf and trampolines.
